Goodbye poem for my office mate

Ms. Oduro,
A prayer for you as you leave this land…for where your dreams have taken you…
May each day meet you as enthusiastic and as determined as you have always been…
May your challenges only propel you higher
May love envelope you always…
May your service to your Maker and His Church continue unabated
May Wilson fall in love with you anew..
May your elder sisters learn from you daily…
May your parents rejoice in their daughter…
May your school rejoice to have you as a student…
May the USA, the land of opportunity, find in you a worthy citizen for the years to come…
May you shine always…Nyame Ne Hene

FOR ESTHER-24/10/07

I missed you while you were away
There was no one to feel comfortable with
No one to be teased by
Waiflike, orphanlike, I wandered
Wishing you were here
I wondered what it would be like
If you never were
And I thanked God for you
I wondered….
There was no one to laugh with,
No one who’d understand
Exactly what I meant
No one to tell my latest
Discoveries
Even, no one to be teased by
I was lonely
But then I remembered your smile
I remembered our talks and discussions,
Dreams and worries
And I was glad
My heart smiled, however
Faintly and the sun shone again
In missing you, I learnt too
I saw the future and I
Tried to be brave
I tried to stand on my own
And I realized once again
That no matter what
Our friends are never far from us
Wherever they are
They are always in our hearts.

The little old house

House no 187/N3/C2, I love with all of my heart
My earliest memories I trace there
My family there ensconced,
Protected from the vagaries of life
The little old house, with its comforts,
With its quirks and foibles
Through all of life
I find my face widening with a smile
When close I approach my home
Remembering that therein
All whom I love will be found
Though I go long and far
Yet I know within home
My heart always will be
forever

My dad 11/8/12 (at choir practice)

My dad,
Man of few words,
Formator of many,
Husband, father,
Orphaned now,
Uncle and so many
Other things to so many
My dad,
Man of few words,
Sent from above for my family
Provider, shelter, guide,
Disciplinarian,
 Creating order
My dad,
Man of few words,
Exemplary by his life,
Excellent work ethic,
Intellectual and practical,
Poetic and prosaic
My dad,
Man of few words,
Teaching me all I need to know,
Forming and moulding me
Into the woman God created
Me to be
My dad, man of few words,
Who loves me unconditionally,
Who sets the standard,
My dad,
On whose shoulders I stand
To reach further than he ever went
My dad,
Who’s all that and more
My gift from God
Thank you

25/8/12 Emmanuel Salifu-priestly ordination

A journey to the priesthood
That has only just begun
Fulfilling a dream placed in a heart,
Begetting other dreams; given by God
The anointing to be all that your
Were made to be
The oil, not to come and go but
Your for all your life,
To fulfill every dream and every desire
There placed by the Father himself
To turn the hearts of his children back to him
A prayer goes out for you that
Every grace needed will be so
Provided and continually overflow
 That everyday the anointing
Will be just as fresh as today!

For Zuviel -16/9/12

Zuviel, the independent minded who goes his own way and not where the crowd leads and cares not that no one follows
Zuviel, who obeys only his own conscience
Zuviel, who can sometimes take contrariness to a new level
Zuviel, who has been my friend since I joined the choir and an excellent one at that. :D
Zuviel, the realist, who listens to me and teases me
Zuviel, who gives Otchere mini heart attacks at choir practice
Zuviel, who is inordinately attached to his phone
Zuviel, who as tenor singers go is great and is a natural
Zuviel, of the loud voice and the unconventional nature
Zuviel, of the intelligence, wit, frankness and sarcasm who is always himself!

Just wanted to say thank you for all you’ve been and are…
A wonderful friend and a great inspiration,
A great listener,
An encourager
A friend,
A mentor,
And a fellow chewer J
Honestly, your upbeat attitude really reminds me to be grateful,
Your love for finance challenges me to work harder,
And your passion for all you do is really amazing!
Pray God sees us through so we can look back at this time as one when He held us all in His arms
Hope I can one day pass the favour on to another…
God bless you
Of course, it isn’t bad at all that you love classical music and play the guitar (wink)

for Gifty

A note to my office mate at CBBSD
A prayer for a special young lady who teaches by very life and example
Her love for God, work ethic, determination, professional ambition and single minded devotion are simply amazing. They keep her going against all the odds…. And provide inner recesses of strength when there’s nothing left to hold on to.
Thanks! You’re one in a million!
Proud to Know Ms. Gifty Agyekumwaa Oduro
May God always enfold you in His love and keep you as the apple of His eye.
